Dear Mr. / Ms. Yeh, *******,

This refers to your application for a work permit as part of the International Experience Canada Program.

Your application to work in Canada has been approved!  Relevant information has been transmitted to the ports of entry so that appropriate documentation can be issued to you on arrival.  You may now travel to Canada with your passport or travel documents.  Upon arrival at a Canadian port of entry, an officer will review the information to ensure that you meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and its Regulations before issuing your work permit.

In order to facilitate your examination at the port of entry, please inform the officer of the reason for your visit to Canada and have this letter in hand.

IMPORTANT: You only have until 01/23/2012 (mm/dd/yy) to ‘activate’ your work permit by presenting this letter to a port of entry (POE) officer upon your arrival. If the officer is satisfied that your entry to Canada is not contrary to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and its Regulations, you will be issued a work permit valid for a period of up to one year. You may only work for the duration of time indicated on your work permit. If you have any questions about this, please ask the officer at the POE or contact a local CIC office.

Too, as an IEC participant, please ensure that you have the following documents / information with you for presentation upon your arrival at the POE:

* a return or departure ticket or proof of sufficient to purchase a return ticket at the beginning of your stay in Canada;

* proof of comprehensive travel medical insurance which will cover your period of travel in Canada;

* proof of possessing sufficient funds to cover your initial living expenses while in Canada. At the very least, this should be the equivalent of $2500 CAD ($75,000 NTD).

If your first port of entry to Canada will be Vancouver, please note the following new information:
There are new procedures in place at Vancouver Airport which will enable you to avoid the usual waiting times at the Primary Inspection Lines for customs and immigration processes.
Please ensure that you have your Pre-approved letter for a work permit clearly visible in your hands before entering the customs area. You will be directed to a special immigration inspection area. You will be able to complete all custom and immigration formalities here and then proceed to pick up your luggage and proceed out of the customs hall.

All workers in Canada, including foreign workers, are protected by the relevant labour and employment laws. All workers in Canada are entitled to work in a safe workplace where their health is protected.  If an employer does not pay the wages to which a worker is entitled, a worker can file a complaint with the federal, provincial or territorial department responsible for employment standards.

THIS IS A COMPUTER GENERATED FORM.  SIGNATURE IS NOT REQUIRED.

THIS LETTER IN ITSELF IS NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL AND DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO REMAIN IN CANADA.  A VALID PASSPORT OR TRAVEL DOCUMENT IS ALSO REQUIRED.
